After working at an Art Gallery, followed by several years working with textiles, Lesley finally returned to her first love of painting about 15 years ago. Since then she has enjoyed experimenting with medium and technique, currently painting larger scale work in oils, smaller works in pastel and exploring the translucent qualities of silk painting to interpret particular light effects.

Living in the Northumberland countryside she has always been drawn to the ever-changing nature of light on the surrounding hills and valleys but, since acquiring her studio, with its vast view over the North East coast, she now paints beach and seascapes with equal passion and effect.
